"I tried using the launchpad.net API for..."
I tried using the launchpad.net API for a small side project, it ended up feeling like a lot more work than I expected. I went in thinking it would be a quick integration, but it quickly turned into me trying to figure out what the API actually wanted from me.
The docs were the biggest sticking point for me. Some parts were confusing, the examples felt a bit outdated, and a few responses didn’t match what I assumed I’d get back. From my point of view, it felt less like building something and more like guessing my way through the process. The error messages didn’t really point me in the right direction either.
I can see how it might be fine for someone who already knows the Launchpad ecosystem really well, but as someone just trying to get a simple project working, it was frustrating. In the end, I stopped trying to force it and just used another service that was easier for me to understand.

"The interface feels ancient. The layout is..."
The interface feels ancient. The layout is clunky, weirdly put together, and way harder to use than it should be. It’s almost impressive how something this basic still manages to feel this annoying

"Bug tracking feels really outdated"
I tried using Launchpad to report and follow bugs, and it was frustrating. Updates were hard to keep track of, the search didn’t help much, and the whole interface feels like it hasn’t changed in years. I also expected responses and updates to come a bit faster, especially when trying to understand what’s happening with an issue

"Bad first impression trying to create a project"
I tried setting up a new project on launchpad.net, it was a rough first impression. Right away it felt clunky and outdated, and the process was way more confusing than I expected for something that should be basic.
I kept clicking around in circles because a lot of the steps didn’t really explain what I was supposed to do next. Maybe it makes sense if you’ve used it for years, but coming in fresh, it felt frustrating and not very welcoming
"So code reviews were kind of a pain"
so, code review was frustrating. Merge requests would just sit there for way too long, and when feedback finally came in, it was often confusing or slow to resolve

"I tried using Launchpad to build packages..."
I tried using Launchpad to build packages, and it stressed me out more than I expected. The builds would fail without a clear reason, and then I’d be stuck digging through these huge logs while feeling like I had to figure it out quickly, even though nothing really pointed me in the right direction.
The queue could be slow too, so every small mistake meant waiting around again, which just added to the pressure. I’m sure people who already know the system inside and out can make it work, but for me it felt clunky, outdated, and frustrating overall...

"Using Launchpad felt way harder than it needed to be"
I tried using Launchpad for a small project, and my reaction was basically, “Why is this so complicated?” The whole interface felt dated, and even finding simple things took longer than it should have. Git support also wasn’t very clear to me, which just added to the frustration. After messing with it for a bit, I gave up and moved the repo somewhere else

"I didn’t really feel safe using it"
The security side of things just isn’t very clear, and I don’t really feel comfortable putting my personal details in there. I’d need a bit more reassurance before trusting it

"Confusing to use"
Tried launchpad.net. Got lost fast. The site feels old, and even simple stuff takes too many clicks. Maybe others like it, but I found it annoying.

"This gave me a bad..."
This gave me a bad first impression right away. I was just trying to get some translations done, but the tools kept breaking over and over. It ended up being more frustrating than helpful and felt like a total waste of time
"Managing my PPA was way more stressful than it should’ve been"
I tried managing my PPA and it was frustrating. The pages were slow, the error messages didn’t really explain what was going on, and deleting packages made me feel like I was about to break something permanently. One weird detail I remember is staring at a loading spinner for so long I started wondering if my Wi-Fi had died, but everything else was working fine. Overall, it just didn’t feel smooth or reassuring.

"Search is kind of a hassle"
I was trying to use launchpad.net to look up a project and a few bug reports, the search was annoying. The results didn’t really feel organized, and I kept having to click through different pages trying to figure out if I was even in the right place.
Maybe it’s fine if you already know the exact project name or bug number, but just browsing or searching normally was rough. The filters weren’t super clear, the pages feel a bit dated, and there’s just something about it that made the whole thing feel harder than it needed to be

I tried to get into it, but honestly... the learning curve just felt way too steep for me.

"Setting up an account was frustrating"
I tried signing up for an account and it was more of a hassle than I expected. The pages looked kind of outdated, and I kept having to guess what I was supposed to do next. At one point I wasn’t even sure if my info had gone through or not, and that part was weird. Maybe the service is fine once you actually get in, but the whole setup process made me quit before I got there...

"Bazaar support feels kind of forgotten"
I tried reaching out for help with Bazaar, but it didn’t feel very useful. From my experience, the support side seems a bit neglected, almost like there isn’t much attention being put into it right now. Maybe others have had better luck, but for me it came across as unhelpful

"Not as reliable as I expected"
I feel a bit misled here. I expected the build process to be dependable, but my builds keep failing way too often. It’s frustrating because I thought this would save me time, not create more problems.

"i mean, I tried using Launchpad..."
i mean, I tried using Launchpad to report an issue, and it was kind of frustrating. The whole process feels outdated, with way too many steps, and I wasn’t even sure if anyone actually saw my report. Keeping up with updates was confusing too. Overall, not a great experience.

"Notifications are kind of a mess"
I keep missing the updates I actually need, then later I’ll get some random email about it, which is just annoying, annoying. The notifications feel all over the place and not really useful most of the time.

"Maintainers just never seem to reply"
I’m just still waiting to hear back from the maintainers. It’s been frustrating because I was hoping to get some kind of response by now.
